A wasp has a slick shiny bard, a honey bee has a toothed bard. If a wasp stings you, it can remove the stinger and sting you again. If a bee stings you, the stinger gets stuck because of the serrated edges on the stinger making it stay in place, When the bee tries to move, it cant, resulting in the removal of its abdomen, and it dies as a result.
